Purpose:

The Sr. Buyer/Planner will be responsible for tactical and strategic purchasing of all direct and indirect materials to ensure continuous operations at the Franklin, WI, HQ campus. The Sr. Buyer/Planner will play a critical role in product development projects, focus on identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives and collaborate cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and update purchase orders with accurate delivery dates to maintain target inventory levels
  • Product schedules to support production, as needed
  • Partner with operations counterparts to adjust schedule to meet demand needs
  • Identify inventory shorts and stock positions to achieve targeted build plan
  • Monitor raw material deliveries to support production schedule
  • Coordinate vendor returns for damages and non-conforming materials
  • Systematically maintain inventory levels for factory consumables, including office supplies
  • Negotiate contract terms, when applicable
  • Monitor inventory turns and minimize obsolescence
  • Reconcile PO quantity and receipt discrepancies, as needed
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships through constant communication
  • Other duties, as assigned

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Excel
  • PBI experience preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership in a group setting
  • Contract negotiation

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field with 5+ years experience in planning or purchasing. 10+ years of equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • 3+ years in a support role within Manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Effective (written and verbal) communication and effective interpersonal skills
  • Flexible to change and possess a high degree of integrity and “can do” attitude
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to team and company goals
  • Working in an ERP system, Oracle experience preferred
