Job Summary

Purpose:

Birth Tissue Recovery seeks a focused and detail-oriented individual to join our team at one of our site in Winston Salem, NC. As a FULL-TIME Quality Assurance Coordinator, you are responsible for ensuring the accurate reviewing of records and forms for completion. Must have great attention to detail, be able to multitask, and comply with privacy rules and regulations. 

We provide on-the-job training for this position. Ideal candidate must be able to spend two weeks in Winston-Salem, N.C., for training. Other requirements include: the ability to lift 30 pounds; ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

Job Summary:

  • The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for tasks in compliance with Company standard operating procedures, and training related to medical record review, form completion, tissue storage, packaging, and shipping, blood and microbiologic specimen testing procedures, filing, and other assigned duties. The QA-C shall successfully complete a background and reference check, drug screening, and be subject to periodic, unannounced re-testing.

Work Schedule: Full time, generally 8a – 5p, but hours are dynamic.

 

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Professional, multi-disciplinary tasks performance skills.
  • Comply with privacy rules and regulations.
  • Perform tasks overseen and/or regulated by the AATB, FDA, and other State and Federal Agencies.
  • Review records and forms for completion and accuracy.
  • Handle blood and microbiologic specimens; accurately complete and submit test requisition forms.
  • Obtain donor medical records.
  • Package, label, and ship tissue and specimens.
  • Perform accurate and timely documentation of activities.

 

Skills/Requirements:

  • Must have 2-years of clinical background experience (e.g., RNs)
  • Associate’s degree in Life Sciences, Biology, or Nursing preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must have current valid Driver’s License, auto insurance and reliable transportation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and accurately.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people, including patients and hospital staff.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure without compromise to quality of work.
  • Must support, and advocate for, the altruistic benefits of organ and tissue donation.
